The International Symposium on Space Terahertz Technology (ISSTT) is a premier global event dedicated to advancing terahertz science and technology for space applications. Since its inception, ISSTT has been a vital platform for presenting groundbreaking research, sharing innovative technologies, and fostering collaborations among scientists, engineers, and industry leaders from around the world.
This symposium focuses on cutting-edge developments in millimeter-wave, submillimeter-wave, and terahertz technologies, with applications in fields such as astrophysics, planetary science, Earth science, and remote sensing. It provides a unique opportunity to explore the latest advancements and future directions in space science and instrumentation.
WELCOME TO ISSTT 2026
For the first time in its 36 years, the ISSTT will take place in the southern hemisphere, in Chile. This occurrence is not a coincidence. Due to its privileged geographical location and pristine skies, Chile has become host of the most advanced optical and radio astronomical facilities, converting it in the world capital of observational astronomy. The Chilean government and academy have recognized its skies as an invaluable resource able to foster the country’s science and technology. In 2026, the ISSTT will not only continue its mission as hub for the discussions of new developments in terahertz technology, but will also serve to promote the technology developments taking place in Chile.
The participants will be able to visit astronomical facilities and enjoy Chile’s diverse geography and culture. Welcome to the ISSTT 2026 and welcome to Chile, Earth’s closest point to space.
